Our Indy Trip!

Well the prognosis is GREAT. Lee and I headed out to Indy this week for our very first house hunting trip. We were quite excited because we had seen many houses (via the internet) that looked to be quite formitable housing options at great prices. And we thought we would have the pick of the litter as they say. The thing is, we're kinda nutty. We have been on the get out of debt bandwagon so long, that we want a cheaper house but one that is as nice. The internet made us believe this would VERY EASY in Northeast Indy. but many of the houses we found were the prime example of how not to sell a house. We were quite discouraged by the end of the first day, and I was rethinking this whole promotion thing. Who really needs to climb the corporate ladder anyway, RIGHT?? But AT LAST it happened. We both felt that the house we found was literally placed there by the hand of God, for no other purpose that shelter us for the next number of years. It's been on the market for just short of forever (in realtor terms) and hadn't moved. Usually a good sign that you don't want to live there right....not true here!

The is a newly constructed home that was build by a young couple that moved in one month, got married the next, and got relocated the next. he left right away and she followed about 2-3 months later. It is honestly the cleanest "lived in" I have ever been through. It's quite nice. My only complaint about the house is that the Master Bedroom is just TOO BIG! And from what I hear, that isn't usually something you complain about. My only things is that it could probably have a whole other room and still be a comfortable master. but OH WELL, I guess I can deal!

So...what about the house right...!!!?? Well, the quick run down. 4 bedrooms (one for each kid and us with an office at the end) all on the upper level. 2 1/2 bath (master and kids Upper, guest pooper downstairs.) Large family room, wired for surround, right off the big beautiful eat in Kitchen. This wonderful two story comes complete with an oversized 3 car garage (designed with a 20 ft bass boat in mind) and .26 acres of room to play. Oh yeah, there are built-in Outside speakers to pump the tunes while grilling the super steaks. The neighbor is all brand new with just a few housesites remaining (yeah I'm ready for the post construction housing). We are at the back of the neighborhood with very little traffic (no thru traffic) and have a great couple of neighbors (one we met, who vouched for the rest). There is large community playground and...POOL. With many scenic ponds and walking paths through very mature trees. just fun and pretty!

So we went to INDY not planning on buying a house this soon, in between flights and layovers back home, we had a 4 volley negotiation, and agreed on a price. So we bought it. Now that house hunting is done, the stressful transistion is getting easier. One night, we stopped by the local church and it happened to be our new wards Mutual night. So we've met the bishop and half the ward, and they just couldn't be nicer. This was a great trip, and we're excited to get there. (we will still miss home, but such is life).

so here are the show off pictures. thanks for reading again!

Good CRAP!

Well.. I don't really ever get to use this computer for more than just a few minutes anymore and I usually use those few minutes for other things. But I've been chastize by a few for not updating this with our latest news.

A little while back, I was STRONGLY encouraged to apply for a promotion within my company. So... with much prayer and pondering, we applied to a few position around the country and I have now accepted a position in Northeast Indianapolis. And I will start training on March 17th, and after 4 weeks, I will begin the moving process. The company is making the whole process quite easy, but it's been a tough decision.

I'm totally excited to move to Indiana! When we looked at the list of possible opportunities, when selected about 8 different jobs in 7 diffent cities. During the selection process we made to eliminate Indy about 3 times but we kept coming back to it and it stayed on our list. I posted for the position and the hiring manager contacted my manager almost immediately. We knew that I'de at least get an interviewing for the positon. I interviewed for a couple other positions and got great feedback, but they didn't work out for one reason or another. But when it came to the Indy interview, I walked away pretty much knowing that I would be moving to Indy. It was a pretty good feeling.

It's wierd how that Lord works with us sometimes. I had no real desire to climb the ladder due to travel concerns and territory size. But my perspective was all based on our local territory conditions. In Indiana, I get a better job, with a smaller territory than I currently manage, with a lower cost of living, and more money in the pocket. And we have no doubts that we are supposed to be there. We're really excited and look forward to this adventure.

I hope all is well out there in the blogosphere!
